About Me
I don't know why I have this desire to draw and paint, perhaps I will never know but when i'm drawing its like time stands still and I can go for hours and hours scribbling away totally engrossed in the picture I'm creating (as long as I have a few cans of diet coke and the odd cup of coffee next to me). To put it simply - I love drawing and letting my imagination go and have been interested in artwork and caricatures from a very early age and have drawn and painted since I can remember.
Having achieved a National Diploma in Graphic Design in 1992 and a 2i degree in 1997, I started my own online artwork company called 'splattt.com' selling caricature prints and airbrushed artwork of the rich and famous from film stars, tv and music celebrities to science fiction and horror. In 2007, having been renamed 'garytymon.com', I started to introduce commissioned work for caricature portraits and illustration produced for clients all around the globe and have since been featured in many magazines and books. Some of my most famous commissions have been designing the artwork for the Boycie and Marlene 2010 UK Tour with John Challis and Sue Holderness and also illustrating the book 'The Extraordinary Adventures Of Travelling Ted - Impossible Is Nothing' by Greg Doolan, both of which are featured on this site.
Much of my work for caricatures and airbrush artwork involves the use of a wacom computer tablet with a digital pen and many hours of eyeballing a computer screen but I still enjoy going back to basics with the pen and brush with oil and acyrlic paintings and pencil portraits. I must say the wacom cintiq tablet is an amazing piece of technology and has allowed me to do so much more with my caricature work and airbrush illustration, I'd advise anyone who is into drawing cartoons and illustration to buy one.
